Through this workshop, participants will learn how brain architecture, serve and return, stress and resilience impact child development. Participants will explore the concept of trauma informed care. This is a competent level training. Prerequisite: Successful Completion of A Child Development Class that explores child development theory. Core Of Knowledge (COK) Hours: 3 (Child Development). - Explain brain architecture and how experiences influence its development (CD.2.C-C.b)
- Define serve and return and identify ways to include serve and return strategies in the early childhood setting (EI.2.B-C.b)
- Identify the impact that stressful environmental situations and trauma have on behavior and development (CD.4.D-C.a ) 5. Identify ways early childhood educators can children become more resilient
