Scaffolding Children’s Learning (Tuesday, May 18th, 6:00 p.m.)
Scaffolding techniques have been shown to improve a child's ability to complete a task. The goal is to provide temporary support that will later be removed as the child acquires and eventually masters new skills. Through this workshop, participants will learn scaffolding strategies that are appropriate for young children. This is a competent level training. Prerequisites: Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
Core Knowledge Hours: 3 (Curriculum)
1. Define Zone of Proximal Development.
2. Define Scaffolding.
3. Identify Scaffolding Strategies.
